I am unsure how to rate this one. It was written well, but felt choppy at times and the pacing was a bit slow. I liked it, but it was missing something that I just can’t put my finger on. The relationship between Frank and Eudora seemed forced and didn’t get fully realized on the page for me and I also thought that the back-story for the horror element, as it related to Frank, was a little sketchy. A good first effort from Mr. Buehlman that shows plenty of promise for the future. A high 2, rounded up to 3 stars.
