I have been a fan of Ania Ahlborn ever since she did a Horror Aficionados Guest Author group read of Seed a few years ago here on GR. Ania knows how to write a creepy tale and The Bird Eater is no exception. TBE is not without its flaws and could have used a stronger back plot earlier in the tale versus a late reveal, but still delivers a number of scary moments, complete with ghostly visions and descending madness. Overall, a well written and engagingly haunting read. 3.5 Stars.
