A U.S. Border Patrol officer stumbles across the body of a young woman in the desert with an ominous message carved into her body and a camera full of horrendous pictures of death . Agent Rivera must seek out the truth and try to find out what atrocities happened in the Sonoran desert while following the footsteps of this mystery woman.

A band of undocumented Mexican citizens is looking to escape to America and have paid a hefty sum to be guided over the treacherous desert terrain to seek a new life. Unfortunately for them, the brutal heat and unforgiving elements are not their only worries... not by a long shot. There are much more terrible things awaiting them and they are starting to get picked off one by one.

McBride has an uncanny knack of taking lore and truth and mixing them in with the proper amount of history and medical intellect into compelling tales of horror. There is always some social commentary in McBride’s work as well, but he does not hammer them down on you to where it f’s up the story. The story is the main deal and it is told with skill, vivid characterization and flowing prose. Very well done and Highly Recommended!
